Mai — meaning "new" in Thai — reflects a philosophy of renewal through thoughtful refinement.

Patcharakan "Mai" Greener is the founder of Studio MAI London, a design studio dedicated to refining bedrooms and intimate interiors for private homes and boutique hospitality spaces.

Born and raised in Bangkok and now based in England, Mai's work is shaped by a cross-cultural perspective that quietly brings together the craftsmanship of Thailand with the considered simplicity of contemporary European design.

Her creative journey began with Fashion Design in Bangkok before continuing in London, where she completed a Foundation Degree in Fashion Styling and Photography at the London College of Fashion. She later pursued a Master's degree in Interior Design Practice Management through the National Design Academy in collaboration with De Montfort University.

Working within fashion, editorial styling and creative direction taught Mai to see beyond decoration. She developed an understanding of composition, proportion, material, and the emotional impact that thoughtful design can have on everyday life — principles that continue to guide her work in interiors today.

After becoming a mother, Mai chose a path that allowed creativity and family life to exist together. Working within the beauty and wellbeing industry brought her even closer to the rituals of everyday living, deepening her appreciation for spaces that encourage calm, restoration, and a sense of home.

Her philosophy is equally rooted in her upbringing in Thailand. Summers spent with her grandmother in Hua Hin, preparing food for Buddhist monks and observing a life centred on patience, generosity, and intention, shaped her understanding that beauty is found not in excess but in care. Alongside these experiences, Mai developed a deep appreciation for Thailand's rich tradition of craftsmanship — where textiles, natural materials, weaving, embroidery, ceramics, and handmade processes are valued not only for their beauty but for the stories and skills carried through generations.

These influences continue to inform the studio's work today. Rather than following trends, Mai seeks to create interiors that feel timeless, considered, and quietly personal.

This philosophy extends beyond interior design into The MAI Edit, a carefully curated collection of clothing, objects, ritual pieces, and artisan collaborations that celebrate craftsmanship, materiality, and thoughtful living. Whether designing a room or selecting an object, the intention remains the same: to choose with purpose and create spaces that enrich everyday life.
